View Full Version : Export CSS code from Viewsource Code.

To begin with I am a Dreamweaver beginner

To improve my understanding of code and design I have taken a website off the net, used viewsource code and copied the code into Dreamweaver I have been able to make edits and get a greater understanding of how it all fits together.

Because the CSS file of this website is on a remote location, I am unable to make any CSS edits I tried exporting the CSS code into a separate file on my computer instead but the export CSS code function is greyed out when I try right-clicking for it.

Is there a way of doing this?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

In the head of the code that you have taken you should see the path to the websites css file.

It will look a bit like this....

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="somefilename.css">

The href is the path to the css file. Use this in a browser and you may be able to get the css file. Something like this...
