Hi

Just wanted to know if I am right with the alt attribute

If the image is for eye candy and usual PR rubbish you use CSS to display the image and dont use image placeholders etc, in other words no alt text

If the image has a function then you should state this in the "alt" something like "image link to our contacts" and dont write "Image of envelope"...No relevance or enhancement to the text viewer.

If the image enhances the viewers experience or you want your images to show in google search then you should use about 7 words to try and describe the image. If you need to go indepth further you use longdes to link to another page to explain the image fully

i.e I am on an Air Conditiong website and there is an image showing the flow of air then I use the alt/longdes to fully explain that image so the text viewer user has full understanding of the said image.

Am i about there or is this wrong.
