View Full Version : Optimizing an Image in a database.

I know how to run the fireworks optimizer in dreamweaver for an image that is physically present when editing a page, but is there a way to do it for an image that is in a database. Right now I have several images on www.comicracy.com (http://www.comicracy.com) that I would like to optimize, the "comic book" images are quite large and slow down browsing but they are all in a database so they show up as they are rated and I can't run the optimizer on dreamweaver for the image place holder. I get error that says dwres6088 was not found. Any advice?

Usually the images are not stored in a database. Only the reference (file name - picture description) to them is on a database. The images are stored on a server in a directory.

You could find out where the images are on the server and download all the images, then run them through fireworks or whatever you like and re-upload them once they are done. That should do what you want.
