I have a problem with the footer on some pages. For some reason I cant fathom out, the footer is not appearing at the bottom of the document. I have a container which holds the header - sidebar - main content and footer. Because the sidebar has a fixed size (500px) and the main content is set at auto (due to differnt lengths of text on the pages), for some reason the footer places itself at the setting of which ever one of the 2 (sidebar or main content), is the smaller.
So my content in the footer - which at present is only a copyright item - is appearing in the wrong place. How can I get it to sit at the bottom of the page where its meant to be underneath whichever is the longer of the 2?

Not sure if this is what you want but I had similar things happen (div's not starting further down the page with page length set to auto) until I got my head around the concept of including "clearfloat"

Have a look at the explanation here:

If it's not the solution (no doubt someone will confirm, or otherwise) then it's a good thing to know anyway.

Good luck
