View Full Version : Indenting Text in a table.

Hi everyone,

I have a table on my website that contains text. I have just used 1 row on the table to enter the text so it looks like a frame. I used the indent tab which looks fine on my computer (both left and right sides looks indented evenly) But when viewed on another computer the right side is uneven with big white space.

Is there some HTML code i could use to correct this?

Or can I create 3 columns in my table, place the text in the centre column and hide the two end columns just so that it shows the text nicely indented evenly at both sides?

Thanks, B

Hi,
if im understanding your question properly, you could probably use: cellpadding="5px" in the td width part of your code instead of the indenting. That should work. Or you could also do the extra column thing, just make sure you set the border to "0" and make it colourless

Hope thats of some help

you could use css to set the left and right padding for the table cell.

td {padding: 0 5px;}

Will put left and right padding in ALL table cells.

Of course a div would have been a better choice that a single cell table.
