Hi,
I have dreamweaver CS3 and would like to add some meta tags or keywords etc so that my site can be found if its googled !
Can anyone advise on this as I have heard Meta Tags are not so popular anymore can anyone assist !

meta keywords have been defunct for at least 5 years

SEO is a wide subject . one which we hope to expand on here soon, in the mean time try a search as i know i have answered this before as have others. Im not passing you off but the re is a brief starter already posted

Creating interesting content that people will want to read and link to and building your pages according to current standards is a good start.

Indeed, content is still king.
If you have something worth displaying in the search result page, chances are it will appear there. If not now, it will eventually. Adding meta tags or keywords will most likely not, in my experience, have any influence on this.

google has admitted focus on URL, title, and h1 and img tags for starters. (that being after you have submitted a google site map to them)

(that being after you have submitted a google site map to them) Sometimes if Google for whatever reason has an issue with crawling your site, a sitemap will overcome that hurdle. A sitemap in itself though, does not make your site relevant in my experience.
