http://www.coffeecup.com/shopping-cart/

For someone with no knowledge of php like myself, would you say this would be a good tool to use to build a shop on my site?

what are it's limitations?

any other info about this would be helpful

thanks folks

Kearnsy, it depends on the scale of Shopping Cart you need. There are lots of these type of sites out there.

If you have a big site to cart up then you should be looking for something a bit more upmarket. If its only a smaller concern then why not learn how to do it yourself.

Alternatively, you could use PayPal (https://merchant.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?&cmd=_render-content&content_ID=merchant/wp_standard). They have their own Cart that you could use, either with Buy Now buttons or Add to Cart buttons. You could use PayPal in the meantime while you learn how to do it yourself. PayPal will even let you integrate your own cart once you have learnt how to build it.

It all depends on you and what the site needs!

looks ok but frankly it may not be for you.
some frr options
zen cart - well used but not user friendly IMO
magento - very nice but resouse heavy and seems to have problems with some servers
prestashop my latest find which i like at present
oscommerce - had some security issues but may be patched now
cpcommerce - e ok nice frum support by author

which ever you use security is always an issue. being commercial by nature, the blue meanies are always trying to break in themif they can
yahoogle shopping cart name security to see any issues
