I just recently installed Xampp and since then I haven't been able to preview my pages in the web browser. When I try to do this this is the message that I get:

Object not found!

The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

This is so frustrating because I am the webmaster and I can't even preview my own website.

Someone please help me.

it sounds like it might be a definitions problem but first if you open a browser and type localhost what do you get?

I get the Xampp for Windows welcome screen. Is that supposed to be there?

Hi!
I just turned off Apache and MySql and I still can't preview my page in the browser the way that I used to. The only way I can view the page is if I open it from within the web browser. Is this supposed to happen?

I'm beginning to wonder if I should just change all of my page extensions from html to php.

Okay, I think I figured out the problem. I had to move the documents to the Xampp hotdocs folder. Now I can preview the site just fine.

Thanks for your help.
