View Full Version : images not showing up -hosted at T35.com-

Hi guys,

I have recently uploaded a page with one image and the image is not showing up. I'm using Dreamweaver MX and I inserted a table and inserted my image into the table. When I uploaded my page using the upload tool in my free T35 account, I also uploaded the image jpeg seperately - also using the upload tool. The inserted table shows but not the image inside. My image uploads fine and shows up in the list of upoladed stuff in my control panel, it just doesn't show up on the webpage. I have tried the same thing with really little images and got the same result so it's not a problem of oversized images. I have been uploading image rich -Frontpage- pages into T35 for a long time, but now I'm using Dreamweaver and I can't seem to figure this out. this makes me want to go back to Frontpage ----Please don't let that happen to me! I need to live in the modern age.

I don't know if this is a Dreamweaver issue or a hosting issue. Any free non-ad hosting advice would be grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!

What should I do?

Here's the page in question:

I have also tried recreating the webpage by hosting the image remote(photobucket.com) and inserting the remote image url into Dreamweaver. This works, but this method doesn't allow me to create my page in Dreamweaver -visually- so I can see how it's going to look as I'm building it.

I DO plan to learn about CSS next -Thanks for your post Corrosive! But right now I need to get some simple spash pages up.

Hi Tara

When I look at http://tarajenay.t35.com/Pictures/kenken.jpg I get a 'page not found' back which means either the picture isn't there or the path to the image is incorrect.

Hello Tara,

In the source code of your page this line of code is your image.

<img src="../Pictures/kenken.jpg" width="864" height="960">

Using code view in DW try changing it to this....

<img src="Pictures/kenken.jpg" width="864" height="960">

or even the full path to the image, some thing like this....

<img src="http://www.yourwebsite/Pictures/kenken.jpg" width="864" height="960">

See if that helps and let us know.

Regards, Paul

Thanks Paul,

I will try looking at my code. The problem is that I don't really write my own code, I just want to use Dreamweaver......but I am learning.

I have uploaded that image I swear! So I know it exists. I am using the same method as I always have in my Frontpage days, but now I've switched to Dreamweaver and now no images.

I will try removing the ... and see how it goes.

I was also wondering if you have any suggestions for finding free learning sources for how to do CSS. I need the dummies version as I hardly know my way around Dreamweaver. Any free tutorials or ebooks out there on CSS?
