View Full Version : Image Problems

I'm new to Dreamweaver and I've built a site for a client with images and a flash header.
The site works fine when I preview in iexplorer but when I upload the site the images and flash do not appear on the site.
It may be something simple that I'm missing because I'm a noob to dreamweaver.
Could anybody help me with this problem please.
oh the site is http://www.comagsolutions.co.uk you'll see the x boxes.

Your images aren't where you have said they will be. http://www.comagsolutions.co.uk/images/red-zebra-static-footer.jpg returns a 'not found' message. You either haven't uploaded them or the paths are incorrect. Check both :)

Hi Corrosive
Thanks for the reply, I've just used the file pointer to point at the images which are in my images folder and it's still got the same problem.
The staitc footer at the bottom of the page links to a site address which isn't live yet.
When you upload your image folder, does dreamweaver automaically give those images a url address of /? I mean for example www.comagsolutions.co.uk/image1.jpeg (http://www.comagsolutions.co.uk/image1.jpeg).
Sorry to be a pain

As long as your site is defined correctly http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/define-your-site.php DW should create the paths to images for you with the 'point and click' interface. I think this is an upload problem with your images.

Hi Corrosive
I found the problem, I had the image folder out of the html folder, so i dragged it into the html folder and aypresto.
Thank you very much for your help.

No problem. The site looks great :) Nice and clean and easy to navigate. Good work. Can I recommend this for your gallery though...

Very simple but effective js gallery.

Corrosive thank you for your kind comments. it's my first of hopefully many sites. Thanks for the link, I wasn't sure on how to produce the gallery. the client is going to send me images on a monthly basis, so the lightbox gallery should be great.

You are welcome. Credit where it is due. If you are considering a career in this though you need to start learning div and CSS based layouts. We can always help you out.

I like Lightbox because it doesn't have the user navigate away from the page they are on.

Hi do you know of any sites with lightbox2 on it apart from the link corrosive gave me, because I want to show the client but I don't want them to know it's a free download.
