I have added a hit counter and flag counter to my site:

http://www.paginasprodigy.com.mx/reyes9550/ (at the botton)

I am newbie in web design.
I added them to have an idea how many visits I have

Do you think is there any problem with them ?
Do you thinl I should remove them ?

I don't think there is a problem that you have to worry about. Personally I don't like those widgets, but if it serves your purpose then who am I to decide.
I also like to see waht happens on my websites, but I have awstats for that where I can see a lot more then the number of visits and from which country it comes. But this is on the background and is part of the hosting.

Your host will (should) provide that data to you already.
If not sign up for Google Analytics so you can remove that horrible counter ;)

I always find that very few people even know the difference between a hit, visit, unique visit and so on. did some investigation myself a while back;

I hope it helps a few folks out.

Agree with Dom that hit counters are very 1996!
