In our site we use files that have no extension (file type) to improve our search rankings...

Files such as 'fullstory' and 'companystory'

A typical URL might be... http://oursite.com/fullstory/123487 where '123487' is the story ID to display.

Is there a way to get DW to recognize and open these files as a known 'file type', and to color the code as in our other PHP or HTML files?

I have gone to the extensions.xml file in configuration, but those are only allowing us to add 'extensions' .. but nothing for a 'generic' non-extension file.

Just a question, why do you think a url like http://oursite.com/fullstory/123487 is better for SEO than one like http://oursite.com/story-title.html?

In any case the 123487 isn't helping you.

pages with no extension in the URL is made with rewrite rules. They're not actually sitting on the server without an extension.

Either way, without an extension I don't think you can tell DW how to deal with it.
