Just wondering about the opinions of folks here.

Do you consider the use of tables for laying out forms a good practice?

I'm not sure it is good practice but sometimes (in the case of large, complicated forms) it is just easier.

Yeah, try as I might, I just don't find CSS terribly friendly for large forms.

I find that by not using tables, I'm more free to define sizes of labels and input fields. With tables I was always forced to be constrained to columns, but then there was always some elements, like large/wide option lists, that forced the rest of the column to be of a certain size.

It was after following this article by the man in blue I finally got rid of my last misuse of tables:
