I have a css targeting my background. I made a background 1440x956 in png. Soon as i go to the page it takes alittle bit before it loads up. Is there a way to make this quicker? JPG would just be a bigger file right?

This is it here. www.avamariestudios.com/home.html (http://www.avamariestudios.com/home.html)

Are you serious? Your background is 3.8 mb. :-D

Save for Web -> Jpg 20% quality. And the files size should be under <100 kb

resolution doesn't matter when you save for the web. one pixel is one pixel

True, but the 20% quality setting will definitely affect the quality of the image.
