I'm REALLY new to css and dreamweaver.
Would someone help with 2 problems?
My page has 4 sections .... header area (with 3 graphics lined up in it), a middle area for content, (divided in 2), a footer area.

1) how to make the graphics stay lined up if the browser window narrows
2) how can I keep the gradient fill bkgrd in IE? It looks fine in safari and firefox.

here's the css file

thanks tons

#header {
margin: 0px;
height: 220px;
width: 1000px; (slices add up to exactly 1000px)
}

body {
margin: 0px;
padding: 0px;
font-family: "Frutiger 45 Light";
font-size: 14px;
}
body {
background-image: url(images/bkgrd.png); (gradient fill - 1px by 1500)
}

#footer {
color: #6D7A83;
text-align: center;
clear: both;
height: 40px;
width: 1000px;
font-family: "Frutiger 45 Light";
font-size: 10px;
font-style: normal;
vertical-align: bottom;
}
#middle {
width: 1000px;
height: 650px;
}
#values {
float: left;
width: 50%;

}
#aboutus {
float: right;
width: 50%;

}

ie is not a fan of png format so that might be your background problem.
if your images exceed the width it will not stay lined up so you could if this is a prorblem maybe put into a div with overfolw hidden. not perfect but its all i can think of before my coffee arrives

thanks for taking the time to reply
I've been following a tutorial for dreamweaver but I need to understand css much better (which was my goal for doing this).
I'll go back and redo it all ... better

thanks again

Also consider giving a link, since it greatly removes the guesswork of what is going on.
