Just wondering the best way to obtain Dreamweaver software and if I need the newest version or not. I'm a newbie to web design but I've decided dreamweaver is probably the best to learn with if I'm going to teach myself and have the most flexibility. I just don't know if its possible to use a friend's software or if I should buy it new or an older version...

Thanks

as with any software, buy the latest version. the older ones still work, but have less features, etc. for DW, go to Adobe.com

Adobe software has a limited number of activations so using a friend's software is not only of questionable legality but also not necessarily possible. I'd recommend the latest version. The best deal is if you qualify for academic pricing (in which case consider buying the whole Creative Suite).
