I'm quite new to this (but enjoying learning CSS). I have an external style sheet that styles the body and container..

body{
margin: 0px;
color: #A29;
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 12px;
background-color: #A29BC6;
}

#container {
position: relative;
width: 900px;
height:560px;
background-image: url(../images/background_image.jpg);
margin-top: 15px;
margin-right: auto;
margin-bottom: auto;
margin-left: auto;
}

When viewed "live" on IE, as I click from page to page I get a sort of "colour flash" which last a tenth of a second but is noticable...can I get rid of this.

it's just a site I bought to play at web site design

I can't seem to recreate this problem but the image of the pencils takes a split second to download. This is kind of normal. You'll always get a brief moment as a website downloads. This should improve as your browser caches more information.
