Howdy! New and learning as I go.

I created a user comment form on Dw with a 'submit' button. How do I assign function to the button so that I receive their data (or at least a notification) when a user submits their form? I don't want to just open up their computer's e-mail program w/ 'mailto' -there has to be something on the server's side of things, isn't there?

the button has a value Submit?
this will submit the form fields to where ever you assign an action to. the action should point to a script to handle that whether a mail script or handle the info for a database. you will need a mail script, there is a php one on this forum in tutorials . your server may have its own script also

I read some PHP tutorials/examples, but they seem to rely on the visitor's own e-mail program to open up and send the form; I would like the submit button to just send the information to me without the visitor having to open their e-mail program. Is there a specific PHP tutorial that I missed?

thanks again!
