Working on Mac when DW crashed. Msg says:

application DW quit enexpectedly.
MacOSX other apps not affected.
Click to reload, report, etc.

DW did not reload and I don't understand anything in the 'report'.

Reinstalled DW, no go. Then Uninstalled and reinstalled. Same message.

Does anyone know what to do?

Report it, then call customer support. Sounds like you need pro help with this one.

you might try rebuilding your preferences file: http://dwcourse.com/dreamweaver/rebuilding-preferences.php

Thanks to you both. Before I start anything, please note that I am using DW8, not cs4.

DW, if you have any information on that, please send it. Thanks.

See #9 on this page: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/401/kb401096.html and, if that doesn't work, check out the rest of the ideas.

DJ (DW)

You REALLY KNOW YOUR STUFF!

I can't thank you enough. It worked!

Now, it's back to the drawing board for me to clean up the site (I lost another button in the process).

Here is the msg. that has been coming up all along (since I started with the Mac):

IDS_ERR_UNABLE TO CREATE/M (I hope I copied that right). Every time I see that when I open the program, I hit the OK button and the program opens. Do you know what that's about?

U R THE BEST!

"IDS_ERR_UNABLE TO CREATE/M"

That's pretty cryptic You might try over at the Adobe forums for help but I haven't had a lot of luck there. I know that DW initializes a lot of resources when it opens and I've gotten errors after a crash (or when I rebuilt my preferences). They usually related to a Dreamweaver extension.

Do you have any extensions installed? If so you might turn them off and see if that gets rid of the message. Other than that I don't have a clue.
