View Full Version : Front Page Files into Dreamweaver

I've been involved in web design for quote a few years now and I've never come across these types of files.

A new client has just approached me and asked me to quote for a job. He's given me some FTP details.

I've logged on to the server and there are only two files:

Does anyone know how to access these? Are they packaged files from Front Page?

I've never used Front Page.

Hi! Googled this for u, hope it helps!
In recent versions of Vectorworks, a "Lock" file is created in the same location as a Vectorworks file whenever it is actively open locally or over a network. This is done to prevent multiple users from opening the file once one user has already opened it. This prevents saving over files on a network and helps reduce the risk of file corruption from user error. This file will not be present if the VWX file is not open in any copy of Vectorworks.

The .lck file will not be visible unless Finder is set to "Show All Files" (Mac) or if Explorer is set to "Show Hidden Files" (Windows)

Makes even less sense, why would these be on the server?

Strange, anyway I'll get back to the client.

Because more than one person might be checking files out from the server and working on them. It's like a simple form of version control.

Doesn't DW have the same thing?
