ok, im kind of new to dreamweaver, but ive managed to make a few
pages on my site and im editing them.

tonight i put some new files on my ftp, messed around and did
something (prolly moving files etc), and now when i go to my site,
i see the apache server test page. o.0

i checked my directories and the html files are in the httpdocs
folder where they belong, anyone have any ideas as to what i could
have done?

the apache test page says the page hasnt been configured, im guessing i went screwing around and did something i shouldnt have. so, in dreamweaver, how do you configure your server? i went to manage sites, looked at my site settings, and everything seems to be back to normal,
but i still get the test page.

That's probably just a default page put up by the server. Odds are all you need to do is name your home page index.html or index.htm and you'll be ok.

the html files are named, and have been for a long time. my home page had actually been up for almost a year, i just never got around to doing anything
with it. there are 2 html files in my httpdocs folder, my index.html, and
work.html

but i still get the test page from the server....

yes, domain name is valid and up to date, as a matter of fact, it was just
recently (month or so ago) renewed through the host.

take a look > www.bolingart.com

The fedora test pages says:

You may now add content to the directory /var/www/html/. Note that until you do so, people visiting your website will see this page, and not your content. To prevent this page from ever being used, follow the instructions in the file /etc/httpd/conf.d/welcome.conf

So it looks the website should be in the /var/www/html/ directory not httpdocs.

none of the folders listed on the test page exist in my ftp directory
in dreamweaver, should i create one? and if so, where should i put it.

When you log in to the server at the top level, what directory names do you see?

babar

when i log into the site i see these directories in the ftp:

css
httpdocs
img
picture library
plesk-stat
test

i have always kept the html files in the httpdocs folder, and the site
worked fine, i moved them around by mistake, but put them back in their
root directory through site management, httpdocs. url prefix is
obviously http://bolingart.com

root directory for these files has always been httpdocs/

whats strange to me is that the site previews just fine, but alas, i cant
get the server to recognize the index.html file:(

meh, ok, im a nub, i had them in the wrong httpdocs folder.
there are 2 on the remote site "httpdocs", and "httpsdocs".
i moved them from one to the other on the remote site and now the home
page is back up, now i got to get the darned link images back...sigh

i opened dreamweaver, opened the index.html, placed and linked the giff images,
but they do not show up on the home page.....i see where they are placed for a
split second and then the just dont appear. im pretty sure they ar eplaced and linked properly,
straight to the img directory in the httpdocs directory, am i doing something wrong here
too?
