I'm having an issue getting a bkgrd image to show up. My css properties are being ignored probably because I'm not using div id and classes correctly. I'm trying to get an image behind the <ul> element in the following set up:

<div id="outerwrap"><!--wraps all including footer-->
<div id="innerwrap"><!--wraps all except footer-->
<!--combines side navigation and header -->
<div id="contentwrap">
<div id="colright">
<h1>Cleveland Chamber Collective</h1>
<ul class="artists">
<li ><a href="#">Lisa Boyko</a> </li>
<li<a href="#">Linda Atherton</a></li>
</ul>
</div><!--end colright-->
</div>
<!--end contentwrap-->
<div id="clearfooter"></div>
</div><!--end innerwrap-->
<div id="footer">
<ul>
<li><a href="../index.html">home</a></li>
</ul>

<span class="copyright" style="margin-top:20px">
</div>
</div><!--end outerwrap-->
I'm wanting to have a bkgrd img in the <ul> within the <div id="colright"> (which has it's own bkgrd img).
here is the css for the section:

#colright {position: relative; overflow:auto;float: right;/*OLDwidth: 540px;*/width: 730px; background-image:url(images/angelBkgd.png)}

.artists ul {margin: 0px 0 0px 0 !important; padding: 0 0 0 0; text-align:left; font-size:75%; background-image:url(images/blackbox 700x26.png) }thanks for any help!

There cannot be a space in your file name for the background.
Rename the background image by taking out the space and update the CSS with the new file name.
