I'm using Dreamweaver CS3 and working with a 3 column layout. I'm trying to use faux columns in both sidebars to extend all the way down to the footer. It worked on the right side, when I created an ID called container2 and applied the same image on the left it didn't do anything.

I am also attempting to get the background color in the maincontent div to go from the header to the footer and it stops short on the top and the bottom.

the webpage is:
tacticaldeception.com
and the external stylesheet is :
tacticaldeception.com/tactical.css
Any one have any ideas what is causing this?

You need a background image for the "container" div that has the colors for all three columns. Then repeat it in the y-dimension.

Your image would have 150px of blue, 590 px of purple, 160 px of blue (or something like that)

Don't use background colors or images for the sidebars or mainContent div.
