Background

Webserver atbhost.net (php, phpmyadmin, mysql )

I have a copy of Dreamweaver cs4 and am trying to connect to a mysql database. I used the cPanel (the atbhost.net site management tool) to create the database and phpmyadmin to import the database I have at home. I also added a user to the database.

I have sucessfully uploaded my standard php pages to the website by pointing dreamweaver to the ftp.domain.atbhost.net and I set the host directory to www/ as placing the files in the root is obviously the wrong place.

The problem

When I try to connect to the database by clicking add database->mysql connection. I enter the following.

Connection name :test1
mySQL Server: sql.domain.atbhost.net OR localhost (have tried both)
username: the one i set in cpanel when i added a user to the database
password: the one i set in cpanel when i added a user to the database

I then click select database and it seems to be doing something but then says-

"http error code 404-
1) there is no testing server running on the server machine.
2)The testing server specified for the site does not map to the "http://ftp.domain.atbhost.net/www/_mmServerScriptsMMHTTPDB.php" URL Verify that the URL prefix maps to the root of the site.

I would be most grateful for any help http://atbhost.net/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

Looks like your hosting company would be able to help you with this. Seems to all be server related issues.

Did you use the correct username and db name? Cpanel often puts part of the cpanel login name in front of the username and dbname you select so:

username "forum" becomes " "login_forum" or something similar. The same applies to database names.

On second thought this looks wrong:

http://ftp.domain.atbhost.net/www/_mmServerScriptsMMHTTPDB.php

try taking out the ".ftp"
