View Full Version : Problem with CSS bottom border

The bottom border of one of my navigation links ([news]) is out of control! It extends longer than the word i have assigned the .style to! But only when the text is not a link...As soon as I make it a link, the bottom border shrinks to fit the word above it. WHY!!??

To give you an example of what I mean, I have included two screenshots of my problem. I want the "news" text to like like the "bio" text.
I use the bottom border for indicating which page visitors are on, therefore I do not want the "news" link to be active when you are on the "news" page.

This is how I want it to look - http://i42.tinypic.com/21bjina.jpg
This is how I don't want it to look (but looks now)http://i41.tinypic.com/2lvisz5.jpg

If display is set to block on the news link or the style is applied to a block lever tag, that would cause the underline to extend across the space.

If you don't want the link active on the active page, you'll need to remove the link page on a page by page basis (or come up with a fairly elaborate script).
