im building a page for my site in Dreamweaver 8.
I have the file open and a gradient background.

I want to put another layer/frame slightly smaller over this current gradient background and then insert shots and text in it.

how do i achieve the new layer or frame? over the other one

I tried a table however i'm not aware a table can take a gradient as its color.

Thanking You

the body has a background image yes? then you star building your page from there .use divs, leave frames in the time machine where they belong. tables are still used but should not be for layout design as such

you are right , just check out css in dreamweaver. you can insert dive the same as you would insert a table but it is better to get a grasp of it.
there are templates in dw css/ div based and on this forum there are some free tem[plates. in my sig is a very sinple page design using divs. experiment with any of them it may help you get it :)

if you hit on this URL you'll see what im trying to achieve

i have a jpeg (the darker central shape over the background)
over the file background.

jpegs aren't too ideal.

So i want to know how to make that front darker box
in Dreamweaver over the background ,and ditch the Jpeg.

and then add the shots and type in the text etc

thanking you
