Hi, when I last edited this page it was fine in IE8 and Firefox but when I viewed it in IE7 the sidebar was floating right and the maincontent div was clearing the bottom of it. Can anyone give me some code that will cure this Microsoft issue?

This is the webpage:

This is the CSS page (I know itís kind of amateur):

Any suggestions will be appreciated:roll:

Hi
I'm no way an expert at this but I always start with the obvious and look for inconsistencies cos if your copy and pasting is like mine, it's easy to miss things!

2 things I notice - and they may not be the faults but I had some cross browser problems recently like yours and it was to do with the use of clearfloat.

I notice in your css ther is a "}" missing at the end of the clearfloat css
Also, I introduced my clearfloat (which is the same as yours) is introduced into my html like this:
<div class="clearfloat"></div>

As i said, I am probably not all the way there but I thought I'd pitch in my suggestions for a change.

I modified both clearfloat issues dubaco and thank you for your input but IE7 is still floating the left sidear1 to the right. I don't have this issue in IE8 or any versions of firefox. The clearfloat was well below the area with the problem.

Does anyone else have any ideas what this could be?

still the same no closing curly brace
.clearfloat { /* this class should be placed on a div or break element and should be the final element before the close of a container that should fully contain a float */
clear:both;
height:0px;
font-size: 1px;
line-height: 0px;

t->his should have } here

Thank you for pointing that out edbr, I thought I corrected that but after I fixed the code the web page and in the css page I only uploaded the webpage and forgot to upload the css page.

I did fix my problem by putting a clearfloat after the red and blue gradient stripe image and the sidebar1.

I didn't have this problem until I put that stripe there.

I will upload the curly brace this evening.

Thank you all for your input.
