I'm designing a splash page that has a large flash slideshow that takes up most of the page. On the left sidebar I have a vertical spry menu.

When you hover over a menu and thus a submenu extends out, I need that to extend on top of the flash slide show. I can't seem to get it.

Both the flash and the spry are in there on divs next to each other. I tried placing a z-index on both. The spry will cover over the items in the div that holds the flash, however it extends under the flash itself.

Any suggestions?

However, splash pages don't really work well for the web. Visitors like to find what they're looking for quickly rather than having to click through pages that are essentially just welcome screens. Then there are issues with what exactly a search engine is supposed to be indexing when it sees a page made in flash.
