View Full Version : Almost there.....just one more problem, can someone take a look and critique too?

I just completed my very first dreamweaver page. I took images from the artists work for the background and color pallette. I also build an image that I used for his business cards so it would all be consistent and match. It is a little different, but I wanted something different, clean and classey that matched his art work. (be sure to check out the second link which is what he had before)

So I had some trouble, but I finally got it all working for the most part except a couple of things. (thanks to some people here)I would love someone to take a look and let me know if you see any problems other than what I am asking for help on. (ingore the missing picture in the contact section, I haven't scanned it in yet) And would love any suggestions or comments. Keep in mind I taught myself to use dreamweaver 2 weeks ago, I am still using the trial versian.

Here are the issues:
1-The site search is not working. On the index it doesn't work at all, and on each page after that it does something different but not what it is supposed to do. This was something I borrowed (with permission) from someones site so I am not sure how it works, I am thinking of taking it out. I don't think I need it, not enough content?

2-I am using slideroll for my flash gallery. That isn't working. I loaded the folder to my ftp site, and I put in the code as instructed. Not sure what is wrong there.

3-In the gallery page, how do I make the table expand or go away so I can utilize all of the white space for the flash gallery?

4-As you will see I created outside links to things that the artists changes on a regular basis. I did this because I thought it would be better if we just linke to his blog so the site would in a sense stay updated without me having to make weekly changes.

OK you have some issues with your links...

<form id="searchform" accept-charset="UTF-8" action="file:///C|/Documents and Settings/Daniela/My Documents/Unzipped/Peace/index.htm" method="get">

Is referencing a file on your hard drive. There are some of these further up the page as well. I have only checked the front page. You need to fix these links so that they point within the root folder of the site. This may help fix your Search box.

Other than that, nice job. Like the site and the layout. Looks good.

thank you! I think I am just going to remove it I don't think it is really needed for this site. Now if I can just figure out why the gallery isn't working I would be a happy girl! Also I am still trying to figure out how to format the table on the gallery page so that the colums go away to just one big one.
