I am trying to get Spry Slide Effect to work on an element that is initially hidden using display:none.

I am using :

display: none; //If I set it to display:block, spry effect works fine.

as recommended here though there is no working example using display:none; only visibility: hidden

Using initial state of dispay: none it displays NOTHING! onclick. Is this a bug in IE 7 ? It works in Firefox.

Anyone came across this problem. What is the solution to this issue ?

EDITED: I'm probably misinterpreting but I assuming the spry effect resets the visibility from hidden to visible. So unless you edit the javascript to reset dispaly, the object still has the display:none property. Any reason you can't just hide it using visibility: hidden?

If I use visibility:hidden, the content does not appear but blank space appears as it is in the page flow. If I set display:none, the content is removed from the page flow. I will try your suggestion on editing the file.
