What is the best method to do this and how would i do it? i.e FTP or is there any special software i would require.

Hello DJ

It will be a daily process which needs to be automatic.

I had a client ask for this too we needed to transfer data like ssn and card numbers encrypted so obviously needed the SLL cert. I bought it from and used Godaddy to set it up (where this site happened to be hosted). They walked me through it. Hope that helps.

you can write a batch file to run the ftp command

by scheduling this via windows schedule (like CRON) this becomes automated

there are ftp automation software out there
http://www.hiteksoftware.com/jasf/sftp-secure-file-transfer.htm

or you could do some research and write your own
