I am using one of the templates off this site... I really like it.

On the right hand side where it says LATEST NEWS
Under there is where I want to put the "latest news" etc... but I don't want to have to change it on ALL THE PAGES... what is the easiest way to make a change on say the INDEX.html and have it effect the whole site?
Not really sure about templates or how to work them if that is the only answer.

Thanks guys! :-D

Ok... I thought so... I just created the template as per your advise..BUT here is my problem... I have a BUNCH of pages already made up.

Can I "assign" the template to those pages?

Thanks again.

Modify > Templates > Apply Template to Page.

Can be a bit hit and miss though.

Thanks I JUST found it on the web.....

Why is it "hit and miss"?
You don't think it is a good idea based on the site I have made?

Ok I just gave it a go and it doesn't apply the template to the existing pages.
Do I have to START OVER?
Ack!

I have real trouble getting it to work as well. That's what I meant by hit & miss. There must be a trick to it but I haven't found it and if I'm going to use templates I start with a template and build from that.

Unless anyone has any bright ideas you might have to start again.

Make sure your site definitions are set up right and then read the manual on how to apply a template to existing pages. You're doing something wrong.

When I apply the template I get this:

total time: (0:00:00)
Updating C:\WebSite\
Done.
files examined: 1
files updated: 0
files which could not be updated: 0
total time: (0:00:00)

...very frustrating to say the least

You're not updating your html files from your template. You need to apply the template to the files first.

OK I am close but still getting some sort of error that I don't understand...
When I apply the template to the HTML Doc it says...
Inconsistant Region Names
"some regions in this document have no corresponding regions in the new template".
Document Body <not resolved>
Document Head <not resolved>

I just used the Orange Sunset template from the site here... changed nothing... added some editable regions and BOOM I get this problem

Thanks,
Dave
