I have a company at the moment who have asked me to make edits to an existing website that they have.

Their previous in house web designer left under bad terms and he was the only one who organised the hosting and held the FTP details.

Is there any way I can find out who the host is just by having the URL.

The URL is
http://www.jmgib.co.uk/
IP Address: 62.105.75.223

Thanks

Just did what you did then.

Can't remember which whois I used...maybe Domain Tools? That's what it came back with.

Of course they always cover themselves by saying it may not be accurate info anyway so they can say what they like!

Always check who is listed under NAMESERVERS. They are the gatekeepers pointing to the server holding the website.

Yes but it only tells the hostname of the nameservers, not the webserver.
Many times the nameserver is owned by the wehosting company, but it does not have to and can be anywhere.
