View Full Version : Logo Pixelation

I am trying to bring a logo into Dreamweaver with a transparent background so that the background image of the Dreamweaver page can be seen behind it. I have the logo as a Vector image in Illustrator. When I bring it into Photoshop I bring it in as a Smart Object. I looks fine on the photoshop file however when I go to save it out for the web as an gif it becomes pixelated. How can I correct this. The logo is not intricate. It is basically a large U with the company name through the middle and it is only two colors. I have tried saving as a jpeg but it doesn't allow me to have the transparent background. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? Here is the link http://edsstudios.com/uhma/indextest.html

In Photoshop you can set the "matte" color to a dark color similar to the background. Right now you have a light color, maybe white, selected and that's giving you the jagged fringe.

EDIT: While the image you have only has two colors, you will need to allow PS to use more than two colors to simulate a soft edge.
