I have a website that i am currently playing around with.
I have a toolbar that i want visiters to download.
I would like for a visitor to visit the website for there system to be checked and if it is found that the toolbar is not on the system then they would be directed to a page to download and install the toolbar and when finished would go back to the url they started with.

I have very little experiance in programming and am wondering any possible solution to my problems.

Has anyone any good ideas on how i would go about achieving this?

you cant check a users system automatically

a user has to agree to the scan.

Microsoft use an active x control when checking for updates and installed components.

This is quite high level programming so you are out of your depth

i advise you offer the download on the page then that gives the user the choice to click. There is nothing worse than being directed to a page which you didn't want to go to for some tool bar you didn't want
