View Full Version : Can I make HTML tags editable in a template?

I tried making a template in Dreamweaver which has a top nav-bar and a side nav-bar, which works great, but I need to be able to make certain items in my CSS "current". When I make the nav bars editable I can fix my problem, but if I want to change a menu option's name it does not reflect in linked pages (because they're editable)!!

Is there a way that I can make just the HTML tags editable, NOT the words shown on the web site? This would be the "perfect" solution for me! Especially if I want to use the other suggested solutions to my problem:
Possible Solution #1 (http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29462)
Possible Solution #2 (http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27752)

These could work, but #1 may not work because I don't have access to edit the body tag on a template, and #2 may not work because it will max out my knowledge on CSS! I'm a quick learner, but that seems a little too daunting for myself (unless someone can explain it better or has another tutorial I can go over).

I'd appreciate any additional help! Thanks!

PS. For those who want to see the site that I am working on (without templates enabled - they're being worked on locally): http://www2.svsd.net/~hms/HMS_Web_Test/
