As long as the text you use is html then it will be able to highlight it. Suggest that the rollover image is just a background that changes and the button (or whatever) is normal web text.

well by doing what you have just said would i be able to have different images with the text highlightable

Yes, like Corrosive said, you can change your background image on :hover.
If this does not answer your question, can you try to be more specific? :) (not asking yes/no questions)

ok ill try to be more specific

what i want is to be able to hover over different little images and over each one a big disjointed rollover appear with different text highlightable so that things like google can see that its text so you can get higher up on google if i havent explained it enough please tell me and ill try again because i know i probably sound comfusing

I still don't understand! Have you got an example that you have seen online at all?

i think he just wanntaa thumbnail onhover producing a large image plus a caption text wtih it
braddersdw (http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/forum/member.php?u=26223) highlight is confusing still, search engines including google like bold text or italic so style your caption.
