I use this below, but get funny chars like this; FebĀ 08
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />It may even be MySQL - really not sure.

Which charset, DTD & encoding to use?

Cheers

your doctype and charset look ok

must be the db

Using this, I think it's standard;

MySQL charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)
MySQL connection collation: utf8_general_ci

The db it is!
one man can only read so many articles on why chars are or become funny

Thanks.

I actually edited each table (forgot that part!) with the above collation and it solved right away.

Thanks.

I have been sooooooo busy house hunting, not easy when you have a budget of under a mil;
I found the perfect (well not perfect but really HUGE property for under R800K, triple my property size and I have a big property, considering) possie today, I had to say no thanks due to chick reasons? ask me, got no clue!

Cheers
