View Full Version : How does DW treat files/pages I open on the 'remote view'

this is a really basic question but I want to make sure I've got it right. When I double click a .htm page while on 'remote view' on DWmx, if I understand it correctly, the page/file that is put into my editing window is the actual on-line page, but, if I edit that page and save it, it only saves it to the 'local view' on my pc, is that correct? I then need to upload that page back to the server before it becomes live and replaces the one I had downloaded. Is my understanding flawed? Thanks Chris

You should never open a remote file, bad habit.

1. Make sure your remote and local site are synched.
2. Edit a local file.
3. Upload it to site :-)

Domedia is spot on with this. Edit your local files and then upload them.
