This is only my second thread here and Im very new to this world wide web malarky and dreamweaver.

Anyhow. I saved a web page of my company website and started to have a play with it on my own computer to see how I could add a google map to the template.

However, I noticed in dreamweaver the code for the header is all greyed out and I cant edit it.

How can I fix this?

it could be a page derived from a template, in which case you'll need to find the master template and modify that.

Templates are saved with the extension .dwt and by default saved in a folder called templates. Do not that any changed made to the master template could effect the entire site or at least all the pages that are made from the template.

Another option is to create a copy of the file in question not the template the file and detach it from the template master.

That's the point of templates.
