Hi,

So when I create an over all layout in photoshop what size do I create it at so that as the blocks expand regardless of the amount of information. I created on and use my resolution of 1240-1024 and if I put to much info in the content box the box header <h2> and the Body div seperate.

Thanks

So I am thinking I didnt ask this question correctly.....

If your going to create your layout in photoshop and then slice it. What size canvas should you start with? I went with a static one of about 800 px and it seems small in the browser window.

Thanks

If you want a static site size them most people still make them 800px wide. It will look slightly smaller at your resolution or on a big monitor but remember not everyone uses that resolution or have that size screen. Think about how it will look on a smaller laptop screen.

Alright that makes sense, so until 800 x 600 goes away, use 800 px wide and whatever you need for height?

Thanks again,

2bz2p, when I create a comp in PS, I usually use a 770px width to allow for scroll bars. HTHs :)

That makes sense, I know just need to get into photoshop and play around. Then start working with the fluid(I think, where its based on %) setup.

Thank you

Hi,
2bz2p

for - 800 resolution - it would b better to use - 778px
for -1024 resolution - it would b better to use - 1000px or 100%(it is also for elastic layouts)
and for all resolution - after 1024 you may choose - width-100%.
