Just got a one terabyte (made up of 2x 500GB) drive and would really like to do this.
Is there a program or method that can back my entire drive(s) to an image file.

I have tried these:
DriveClone Pro (full version)
Ghost 8.0 (full version) => bad idea
Ghost 14 (full version) => errors, bad idea too
Acronis true image (trial version)

I would to back up my hard drive(s) (preferrably in dos / kernel mode) with no questions asked.

Which is the better one or is there a better one out there.

Cheers

I have a friend that used Acronis and he's delighted by the performance. I will try to do the same in the near future.

Thanks.

I have about 6 Acronis products and was informed that Acronis True Image Workstation could create a boot disk, boot up and backup my data.
I can't for the life of me get this to work, the boot disk option is not available.

Had a chat with Acronis and there was a faulty download in the mix.
Downloaded the app again and it works 100%

what RAID configuration are you opting for?

No Raid, just plain old windows, needing to be backup up.
Let me tell you that I have been very busy since I got this 1 terabyte drive.
Trying to find the backup solution that suits what I need or want is difficult.

Acronis is not as great as everybody says it is, actually it's very buggy software.

Drive Clone Pro is the one that actually did any work.

Acronis: Boot up, select a full disk backup on a 120 Gig = 2 days (yet it finishes in 8 hours)

Drive Clone Pro: Backup in windows less than 75 mins

You decide.

Let me just add that all these just give errors after or during the backup process:
Ghost 8.0 (full version) => Errors
Ghost 14 (full version) => errors, bad idea too
Acronis true image (Full version(s)) => Errors

DriveClone Pro (full version) => 0 (ZERO) errors.
