I want to do something similar to what IGN has going on with the flash on their page: http://www.ign.com/

Mine is going to be a bit different, instead of pictures are the bottom I'm just going to have numbers with two arrows like so: < 1 2 3 4 > and I want it to change every 5-7 seconds. I did this on my adesadesmoines.com site but I did it with a gif and it can not be stopped nor pulled back a slide.

My question comes into play when I have no idea what to call this effect on a page. I did some searching for SWF Slides but I kept getting stupid lil programs that wanted to put your pictures in it or something like that. So what do they call this so I can look up some tutorials? I know a little about flash on making some stick figure animations but I figure with this kind of thing I can make the majority of it in photoshop and import it into flash and then code it in there as well.

Is there any way to merge the user name and password logins (with a forum application like phpBB) to the main page as well? Would this fall under php code or something else?

this is not hard to do if you go to gotoandlearn.com there so good tutorials that will get you started. If you check out the external swf loading and the XML slideshow one I think this is just called XML and flash its near the bottom of the page. If you do these you should be able to do what you want.

If you get stuck come back

Cool site Ricky, I'll check that out when I get home. On my laptop right now.

As for the forum integration thing I saw this tutorial: http://www.dailytip.net/post/2008/03/Integrating-phpBB3-login-on-your-sites.aspx (http://marek.litomisky.com/2007/03/26/php-phpbb2-integration-with-your-site/)

Only thing I got about this is that it shows you how to use a default form, which is fine but the boxness of the form doesn't fit my theme. I did a bit of searching to try to pull up something on customizing a form but I kept running into free software sites >.>

I made the image in photoshop that would be cool to use kind of like a background to the forum but it has rounded corners.
