i ask this question not to poke fun that you don't know what something is

i am 40 not 14 !

therefore there was no attitude intended in that question. The question was asked to determine what level of understanding you have with the web and the code that makes up web pages.

Ok I apologize.

My coding knowledge? I have never worked with anything but plain HTML and CSS. No scripting, ASP, PHP, etc. My client just asked for the function, it is ".asp" and this is why I posted here. I am obviously jumping in at the deep end - I know, but i have to start somewhere. Please direct me to the ABC's then ...

if your client / school specifically asked for ASP then the server they host on must be setup for ASP.

There is a huge learning curve when diving into this stuff which i believe is beyond the scope of this forum. I advise getting a good book or doing a few on-line tutorials

http://www.w3schools.com/asp/default.asp

this is a programming language so you wont get this done in a day.

unless all you really want is for someone to write this for you so you can paste it into your page?

I don't know if this thread has been resolved but for what is worth. Having a form with a pull down menu that passes a value to another page and calls the info based on that value is not as hard as it seems.

here is a tutorial:
