Hi,

I have a problem with Dreamweaver MX 2004. When typing I like to place two spaces between a period at the end of a sentence and the next word (like I am doing in this post). However, when typing text into Dreamweaver it only allows me to type 1 space. After that space every additional space I type is ignored.

Any idea how I can get around this?

Thanks!

you have to use the space caracters:

press: crtl + Shift + space bar to added to your page.

well it's a bit of a personal preference really i suppose but since we've had variable width fonts (rather than the fixed widths ones of typewriters) then the double space after a period (full-stop . ) has lapsed in favour of just the one.

it's a bit tedious to have to do that for every sentence though :)

you could find and replace in code view and find every period and space after it and replace it with a period, a space and a non-breaking space.

are you also indenting the first line of every paragraph too? and if you are how are you doing it?
