Hi,

Firstly,I hope I'm in the correct forum to ask the following. I have been asked to develop a CMS for a brass band that I am involved in.I am a programmer and have no problem with the code part of implementing same, but can anybody recommend any open source solution (I think Joomla is too big for our needs!). Ideally, the CMS would be capable of "plugging in" an open source blog and an open source updateable web gallery also such as menalto or something similar.

So any suggestions on an easy to implement, not so big o/s CMS is most welcome.

Thanks.

GF

i would still use joomla

its scalable so you can switch functionality off but is widely supported so your issues will be small

DavidJ,

The man with all the answers. The man who got me through my honours degree in I.T. Now I am teaching JSP/Servlets in College by night.

Thank you for your recommendation, I will indeed run with Joomla in that case.

Nice to hear from you.

wordpress, which already is a blog, should be able to handle image galleries as well. Check it out.
