This must be pretty simple, but I cannot get Dreamweaver to change the font color for the text below ·The Beard's Blog.

Trying to change the font color causes all kinds of unwanted changes in type size, style etc.

I want the text color below in "#FF6600" (orange) the same as ·The Beard's Blog. I want all of this text to be the same as ·The Beard's Blog.

·DVDS by The Beard
·The Beard's Books
·Hats
·Bank on Brother Shirts
·Autographed Posters
·Good Cheap Pool Cues
·Autographed Trophy Cueballs

I never had any problem controlling font colors in Dreamweaver before.

Where did I go off the rails?

Incidentally, this code originated in some other program (don't know which).

And yes, this is driving me completely bonkers!!!

Here's the page code: http://www.bankingwiththebeard.com/

you are using an external style sheet and styles on your page . I havent looked but there probably is a conflict.
I would loose the styles on your page add a class in your css page and use that class for the text

check your CSS file called freddy.css
The part that controls the font color is:

a.main_menu {
color: #087B06; <----------------------------------------
text-decoration: none;
font-size: 34px;
font-weight: bold;
}

play it it and figure out what color you like

Thanks for the tip.

I did it and it worked. Don't know anything about css et al. I thought the page layout controlled text color. Now I know.
