Our church website has a left framset that shows up OK in Mozilla, but when it comes to IE, sometimes it will show up and sometimes it does not. I have noticed it to not work with IE7 and IE6. Can someone please check out the website and see if they can figure out what is going on with it? I have sort of inherited the website so I have been making changes to it, but cannot seem to figure out what the problem is with the left frame showing up and not showing up.

Thanks for all the help.

Find this code in index.htm or whatever the index page is named.

<frameset rows="115,*" cols="*" framespacing="0" frameborder="no" border="0" >
<frame src="/banner.htm" name="banner" frameborder="no" scrolling="no" id="banner" title="banner">
<frameset rows="*" cols="149*,928*">
<frame src="/menu.htm" name="menu" frameborder="no" scrolling="auto" id="menu" title="menu">
<frame src="self.htm" name="self" frameborder="no" scrolling="yes" id="self" title="self">
</frameset>
</frameset>

Change it like this:

<frameset rows="115,*" framespacing="0" frameborder="no" border="0" >
<frame src="/banner.htm" name="banner" frameborder="no" scrolling="no" id="banner" title="banner">
<frameset cols="149,*"><!-- increase 149 if you want to make more horizontal space for menu -->
<frame src="/menu.htm" name="menu" frameborder="no" scrolling="auto" id="menu" title="menu">
<frame src="self.htm" name="self" frameborder="no" scrolling="yes" id="self" title="self">
</frameset>
</frameset>

Thank you so much for your input. It worked. What was it doing that was wrong? I am fairly a newbie at Dreamweaver, but I do know Go Live a little so I was a bit perplexed.

Thanks Again!:-D

It may be that IE can't handle this code:

cols="149*,928*"

But I didn't check. I just simplified the code that was being used there. For instance, there's no point in having the attributes for rows or columns when there's only one row or one column. And the cols value above was unnecessary. It was supposed to keep the widths of the left and right columns the same, proportionate to one another, but why make the menu column width vary? I would just make it wide enough to get rid of the bottom scrollbar in IE and let the right column fill the rest of the screen.

Cary,

Thanks for explaining it. I took the site over from another person that was ill, so I was trying to make it work. What you suggested did work as they called me to let me know.

Thanks
