Searched the forum, didn't see anything close. The question: Is there a way to prevent visitors from copying or saving an image on your site? I saw this on a site that did cartooning and you could not save their images with a right mouse click. You could do the print screen route, but not the "save as".

Tried the Google route, but got a lot of garbage back.

The answer to that is "NO"! the only to prevent this is to embed them in a flash object. So if you don't want them copied the don't put them up there.

There are so many screen capture software available like gadwin etc... or snagit its impossible to stop people taking high quality screen shots. Embed watermarks or make the quality around 72 pixels so that if somewhere wanting to print it will look grainy.

File-> save page
or browse your browser cache. If you're seeing the image on your screen, it has already been downloaded. So conceptually this is not possible.

even embedding them in flash wont help you. Like dom said screen grabs and also I have software that can grab the swf file and transform it back to fla to get the images. You can't prevent someone from taking your images but you can put watermarks over them.
