Not sure if this goes here but...

I was reading my google news and came across this article.

First half of 2008 Internet Explore 8 beta comes out and it will pass key Web standards test.

IE7 was a pretty nice update imho, sure good to see they're making progress with IE8 :)

IE7 had great updates I do agree. But 8 will still have nice improvements.

Dave this is not true. IE6 is fading out. It's only a matter of time people will be...well forced to update.

Last year at this time it was at 61% I bet when 8 comes out we will no longer have to worry about 6.

"Dave this is not true. IE6 is fading out. " really?! there's still people on IE 5+ and look how long it was before we could safely kill NN4 :)

many institutions won't update for ages because of the inertia of their IT departments (resources, time, etc) and there will be small but significant percentage for a while yet. and even then we'll still have to worry about 7 when 6 has eventually gone. also i'm pretty sure that IE7 doesn't pass the acid2 test... :)

im pretty sure ie7 doesnt pass acid 2 test either but you dont have to worry as much as you do with ie6. As for ie5+ do you design any of your sites around it? im guessing not. which means ie6 will be like ie5 and you will soon not bother with 6.

f--k, i wish i didn't have to bother at all with IE :) it's not because it's an MS thing, it's just because it's crap. i heard they were still going to use the same (trident?!) rendering engine, still tweaking the same old thing :(

i'm not convinced until i see it

I'm not convinced IE6 will die fast either.. but we can always hope ;)
